Yes I have been to Sham Shui Po many many times - shopping for fabric, beads, ribbons, odd electronic items, visiting Marc when we first met as he used to live there. Later in 1996, I was there every weekday for six weeks, doing my teaching experience module at the Tak Ching School for Girls during my PGCE teacher training. My 7am mornings walking from the MTR to the school were the highlight as I could get my Chinese breakfast buns and lai cha on the way. As a trainee teacher, I really needed all the fuel I could get!
